What should I wear when renting a kayak or paddle board?
Light-weight, fast-drying clothing. No jeans allowed. You might want to bring a towel and sunscreen.
Is there a weight limit on rentals?
Yes - kayaks can hold up to 450 pounds. Canoes, up to 600 pounds. SUP Boards, up to 300 pounds.
What can I bring with me when I go paddling?
Don't bring anything that you don't want to get wet.
What do I do with my valuables?
Leave them in your car or with a friend, OR, we have small lockers for small items , keys, wallet or phone available for a fee.
Can younger children paddle board?
This is up to the parent and WhatsSup staff. We generally teach children as young as age 12
Do you provide life vests and do I have to wear one if I am a good swimmer?
Yes and Yes! We provide them and EVERYONE needs to wear a vest even if you know how to swim. We have PFD's available for anyone weighing 30 pounds and over. If your child is under this weight, you will need to provide your own.
Do you take reservations for groups?
Depending on your group size and rental, we can arrange for a special time and day. Email us at surf@whatssup.net!
Can I rent a kayak or SUP board and transport it to another site?
Our designated equipment is only rentable at our Bothell Landing or Log Boom locations. HOWEVER, take away rentals are are available at our third location WhatsSup Kenmore Kayak Storage. Email us at surf@whatssup.net!
Can we paddle from one location to another?
Yes! We have a WhatsSup Bothell-Kenmore Cap. Steve'sCombo Adventure. ( Reservations required).
Can we bring our pet with us?
Yes! Sorry must be Under 25lbs But you are responisble for any clean up or damage caused by your pet..
What do I need to rent a watercraft?
You must be 18 years or older to rent. A waiver needs to be signed, make payment for your rental and you Must present an ID to hold while you are out on the water.
